Hemlock Awarded the Green School Flag

Hemlock Public School District celebrated Earth Day with honors. Hemlock was the first and only school to receive the Green School Flag in Saginaw County for developing an environmentally friendly focus.

The Green School Flags were raised at each building in our district.  State Representative Ben Frederick was in attendance and thanked students for their hard work and dedication with recycling. Some selected students were chosen to help raise the flags and were awarded a “recycle” t-shirt.

Principal Gensch stated, “This was such a special honor to receive the flags for our district and show the students the importance of recycling to save our earth.”

Superintendent Don Killingbeck, said, “This is wonderful honor to our students and staff. The recycling program has helped cultivate stewardship between the environment and community.”
