Real World Experience Hemlock Huskies

Hemlock High School Art IV students received some real world experience this school year. The students under the direction of Art Teacher RaeAnn Woodcock were invited to re-design the Early Childhood infant and toddler rooms. Students were in teams and came up with three designs, which were then evaluated by an independent panel. The students met with a professional interior designer from Shaw Contact Group, Drew Pennington to review their presentation boards and concepts.

Superintendent Don Killingbeck said, “We were fortunate to have such capable students to work on this project. The rooms look amazing. The students did a wonderful job from design to completion.”

The project from start to finish, in collaboration with various stakeholders, vendors, and craftsmen took approximately six months to complete. The district was fortunate to work with these local vendors, Westside Paint, Mike Fleischman from O’Connor’s Carpet One, and floor installer Bob Bunterbart.

Art Teacher, RaeAnn Woodcock said, “I am so very proud of our hard working Art IV Design Team. They took this real world opportunity and ran with it. They are an amazing group of people, and I'm so proud of who they are today, and can’t want to see what they accomplish in life in the future.”

Hemlock Public School District is a destination for families seeking an outstanding education experience for their children, and it starts within the cradle with our early childhood center.
